Mission

 

NYOFACE fosters the next generation through various mentorship programs, giving them exposure and expression in the arts, fashion, media, entertainment industries and entrepreneurship.  We will impact the next generation by uniting against Teen Dating Violence (TDV). 

 

National Youth Organization for Fashion, Art, Community & Empowerment (NYOFACE) created a Youth Council to help raise awareness about teen dating violence in our communities.

 

Goals

 

• Youth empowerment.

 

• To improve the lives of young women and men, in local communities and throughout the nation.

 

• Provide literature on teen dating violence TDV.

 

• To provide community education and outreach on TDV.

 

Objectives

 

• Plan and implement projects to heighten awareness on teen dating violence in our communities that include community education and outreach activities.

( informational handouts, presentations, PSA’s specifically for students, parents and educators).

 

• Create workshops, teen summit, events and camps for teens on the topic of healthy relationships, self esteem and empowerment.

 

• Annual recognition of TDV prevention month (February).

 

• Annual campaign for increasing awareness of Teen Dating Violence and domestic violence shelters.

 

• Conduct presentations at Arlington public schools and other organizations serving youth.

 

• Provide a volunteer network, a self-motivated community of people who wish to support teens in their quest to lead better lives, while gaining inspiration in their own lives.

 

• Annual recognition of domestic and teen dating violence prevention month (October).

 

Recognition

 

Our recognition program is for young women & men ages 13-24 engaged in volunteer action within their communities or schools. The NYOFACE Humanitairan Award is the award given to young women and young men whose volunteer activities make the community a better place.  They must simply be committed to improving the world around them.  This award encourages them to be powerful female agents of change. As a result, the NYOFACE Humanitarian Award helps ensure that these youth develop a healthy sense of self-esteem and a confident understanding that they are important and valuable members of society—worthy of only the happiest and healthiest of relationships.
